What do you need?

What do you need?

One of the most often celebrated miracles of Jesus is the feeding of the 5,000 men (which actually implies that there were far more people present than just 5,000).   However, what if we examined this event not from the “satisfaction of our bellies”, but from the standpoint of praising God for what He knew would be needed!

Consider the situation:  This crowd had followed Jesus for miles to hear Him teach and none of them had brought provisions to take care of their most basic needs.  Thus, God had to be prepared to take care of His people … who were in turn following His Son!  Now, if God would do that for them, truly what would / could He do for us IF we would trust Him?

Paul wrote to the church (see Philippians 4:19) about God satisfying all of our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, but that He can especially satisfy the deep longing for connection with Him.  Isn’t this exactly what Jesus did for this crowd?  Did He not satisfy what they longed for and needed by showing them what God could do?

If He would do that for them, then what are you needing that you need to trust Him to do?  God bless you.
