When we consider the word, “discipleship”, what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it more to do? A challenge to your status quo? Perhaps an inconvenience to what you want? Those may very well be the negative thoughts that creep into our hearts, but is that not where the Holy Spirit lives and dwells?
Does He not dwell within our “secret places” in order to change our ways and move us from wanting to be in control to being willing to serve Jesus freely? Discipleship has many names – but all of them begin with the joy of surrendering control and looking to Jesus as our source of joy.
Will we surrender to being called by Him to follow, or are we still seeking to “run the show” because we think we know best? God bless you.
