When God’s word reveals a truth to us, what we determine in our hearts to do with it is incredibly revealing of what we truly believe; especially if God’s truth threatens our wants, desires, or even our power. The religious leaders in Jerusalem faced the same challenges when it came to Jesus’s teachings that we have before us today, and how we respond to the words of our Lord truly testify to Him (and to others) about who He is TO us.
Will we hear, listen, and react accordingly to change – or will we take His words “under advisement” and continue on the path that WE have determined God wants us to take? Real Christian Discipleship means being flexible to change as God speaks to us — but do we? Will we?
