What’s next?

I’ve thought long and hard on this last night and this morning and well …………….

Here are my thoughts on moving forward:

1) Fall deeper in love with God.

2) Testify to that love by loving people.

3) Be faithful to my Lord, my family, & my country.

What I stand for!

Will you STAND?

I’ve been thinking a lot about this great Republic of ours and my heart is really hurting.  This is NOT the country I loved in the 90s when I enlisted in the service and it’s not the country I loved in the 80s listening to rock music and hanging with my friends. In those days I knew what we stood for, and we had leaders who were willing to lead and stand for Democracy and Freedom … two things we held dear in our great land.

To my elected leaders, I do and will continue to pray for you (see 1 Tim 2:1-2). However, QUIT trampling my civil rights and telling me how I should think, where I should worship, which doctor I should see, and what I should and should not do with my body. Worry about your own selves and keep your own front porch clean before you try to sweep off mine. I am a Yankee by birth, a 22-year southern transplant thanks to God’s directing the Air Force to place me here, and just short of my 40th birthday I no longer want to be told what is best for me by talking heads that I don’t know.

I love this Republic and I will continue to defend it, and it’s citizens rights, until 6 of my friends carry me out of the church and lay me to rest. It is time that we wake up, and take responsibility for those we elect into office.

It is time that we HEED the call of President John F. Kennedy who said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what YOU can do for your country.”

We are not an entitlement based society, we are a free society dependent on all of us to participate. If you don’t like the way things are today, then get out, make a difference, get involved, and most importantly … vote.

Friends, will you stand with me?
