What do you allow?

Hypocrisy is one of the most repeated struggles that the modern day church constantly endures. However! We are not defenseless and without opportunity to correct it when it rears its head! For example, Jesus showed a great contrast between religious acts and obeying the Law (see John 7:20-24) that we can learn from.

In it, He accuses the religious of their own hypocrisy to be mad at Him for “healing on the Sabbath”, yet demonstrates how they will willingly practice their religious ceremonies on the Sabbath in order to keep up their own appearances. What He makes available to us is the opportunity to be strengthened in our faith, to be steadfast in our worship, but only if only we would choose to follow Him and not what everyone else demands. Will we?

Truly, that is the question of the day we must all consider!
