Sin. A word familiar to us all, and an action that has lasting consequences no matter the scope of the infraction. God’s word, however, promises us an escape and a freedom from sin if we will only humble ourselves and come to Him for forgiveness!
This is the greatest promise of the ministry of Jesus (second to His resurrection), and one that should encourage our hearts whenever we are embroiled in actions that God does not approve of (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and Galatians 5:19-21 as examples).
In a world filled with so much temptation, are we going to be found as faithful people who run to Jesus for forgiveness … or are we still trying to control the narrative in hopes that we will look good to one another? Truly, the only person we should focus on getting approval should be our Heavenly Father – but will we?
