The final public miracle Jesus performed is captured in John 11; known as the raising of Lazarus from the dead. While the outcome is no secret to those who have heard this story, the Disciples most assuredly would have been blown away by it. Honestly, the word miracle just doesn’t seem to encapsulate the whole story, or perhaps it’s lost its impact for today, but the result cannot be overstated that Jesus is (truly) capable of doing amazing things!
The application then, especially for modern day followers of Jesus is: “Do I believe that Jesus is able to help me with my prayer needs when I ask Him?” Do we go to Him with everything that we need because we trust Him, or are we still using him like a genie-in-a-lamp who just grants wishes? As we continue growing in discipleship, we must settle once and for all that He is not only Lord, but able to handle ALL things we need.
