Devotion to Jesus will always cost us something. Whether it means our wants, our likes, perhaps our favorite pastime, or even in some cases our very life – being fully devoted to Jesus in all things is truly the highest price to pay and one that may be required. But … consider the reward!!
If we are willing to follow Jesus so closely that even our lives will be offered up, and in that we have no complaints, what could we possibly worry about if we will transition from this life to His presence for eternity? In John 13, the disciples are about to learn a hefty lesson in what it means to be devoted to Jesus — will we learn the same lesson and be changed (and encouraged) like they were?
